There has been a growing and pressing need to revamp the educational sector in Nigeria brought on by years of lack of structure, funding and a consistent and sustainable yardstick for measuring development within the sector. This much needed revamping is centred around the areas of quality and scope of teaching, level of infrastructural provision and teacher training. Countries which have gotten all these right have over the years gradually moved from the curriculum based form of learning like we know it to accommodate more holistic approaches to learning. It is important to note that education isn’t simply about achieving a higher state of knowledge, its about equipping kids with the tools they need to go out into the world and shape it for themselves, A task Finland and South Korea etc have been able to master successfully.
